Keep an Eye on These Home Remodeling Trends in 2017!

Home Remodeling Trends 2017

Here are some of the home remodeling trends we expect to take off in 2017!

As we look into the new year, there are no signs that the demand for home remodeling will go down any time soon. Every household will have needs unique to them when they are looking at starting a remodeling project. But there are some consistent trends that have emerged. Here are five home remodeling trends that we’ll be keeping an eye on in 2017!

1. Home Additions

For families who want to stay in their current home but need some additional square feet of space, a home addition makes perfect sense. There are a lot of options if you’re looking to expand, from adding space laterally to horizontally. Families are able to create space and use it however they need it, whether that entails a new living room, a larger kitchen, or a new bedroom/bathroom addition for a family member moving back in.

2. Kitchen Remodeling

Remodeling projects involving the kitchen continue to be the most in-demand renovation project. Homeowners are looking for kitchen designs that are timeless yet easy to maintain. In the realm of new cabinetry, there has been a strong trend towards white cabinets, but wood grains are starting to catch up.

3. Master Suites

A combination of a master bedroom, bathroom, and closet, these spaces give a homeowner a private sanctuary for rest and relaxation and recreate the feeling of a luxury hotel room. Master suites use soothing colors and indulgent amenities to create a truly relaxing everyday experience.

4. Mudrooms

Mudrooms are starting to become the rage in home renovations. These small rooms act as a functional landing space for families upon entering the home. Cubbies, lockers, hooks for hanging jackets and keys, and charging stations for phones can all be incorporated into a mudroom and designers are starting to get creative with space available for these functional spaces.

5. Man-Made Materials

New technology and manufacturing techniques mean that it is more difficult than ever to tell the difference between natural and man-made materials. Engineered materials are much more durable than natural ones and are easier to maintain and clean. With the premium placed on free time in today’s hectic world, any time saved from cleaning is time that can be spent with your friends and family!
